My Approach

I believe that we all have the want and drive to live a more fully present & peacefully integrated life. Not getting caught living in the regrets of the past or the potential fears of the future. To do this we must take the risk of taking the time & emotional energy to explore, examine, feel & process our myriad of life experiences. I have a passion for working with adults who have lost a loved one, are going through a major life transition or are working through past traumatic experiences. Over sixteen years of experience being a grief counselor has allowed me the honor to co-create a therapeutic experience that leads to deep healing every day. More recently I have been exploring how Brainspotting assists athletes, musicians, performers and public speakers as it allows them to process their own trauma (i.e. flying over the handlebars while out on a bike ride), or a secondary trauma (i.e. witnessing another person get injured) while releasing limiting beliefs and body sensations.

My Background

I work with individuals who are grieving the loss of a loved one and are looking for some respite from the pain, while honoring their loved one and reconnecting with their own lives. I assist people in telling their story and in making meaning that arises after a loss. Most of us want a safe place to be heard and allowed space to reflect on the impact of losing someone we love in this life. Working in hospice for seventeen years has shown me that hope can be found when originally there does not feel as though there is any. As well, I love working with people who are going through a recent life transition (i.e. empty nesting, going from college to the workforce, retirement, breakups) and focusing on their goals and values to get them moving in the direction they want to go. I have found that my clients tend to heal deeply when utilizing the power of Brainspotting to address trauma, difficulties or even sports/artistic performance issues. I look forward to working with you.
