Rhae Birmingham

I'm a mother and artist on search for the incredible all around me. I continue to grow in self exploration of identity, parenting multiracial children, and advocating for diversity in mental health and in the community.

My Approach

I offer therapy with a focus on racial identification, culturally mixed families, and queer people of color. I help individuals, couples and families become solid, true, and self loving in order to develop relationships that are whole & thriving. When we are able to heal from our relational wounds we stop relying on outside people or situations to determine our worth and emotions. I use to struggle with liking myself and found myself focused on pleasing others. Through my journey and through the relationships that I have created, forced, broke, and stretched I have discovered the most important element in relating to others. Self Love.

My Background

I obtained my Master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Argosy University, Honolulu. I am a Certified Substance Abuse Counselor in the state of Hawaii and an International Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor. I hold a License for Professional Counseling and Addiction Counseling in the State of Colorado. I have worked with a variety of clients in the community and private settings across the country; integrating culture, belief exploration, and religious framework with psychotherapy. My intensive program and all my work experience has developed me professionally but has also continued to help me grow personally. Developing and fostering the sacred space between individuals provides the freedom to explore one’s inner-world and opportunity to practice new tools and chose the direction of their lives.
