I am an experienced therapist who has expertise in providing counseling for a broad range of presenting concerns. Regardless of why you may be seeking therapy, I will collaborate with you to set goals for your treatment and tailor our work together to most effectively meet your needs. Therapy is a supportive space to explore your current stressors so that you can turn take your pain and turn it in to knowledge of yourself and feel strength from your journey. You deserve to feel better. Therapy will not only help improve your emotional well-being in the present, but it is an investment in knowledge and resilience that you will carry with you moving forward. As your therapist I will advocate for you, guide you, challenge you, sit with you during painful moments, and hopefully make you laugh from time to time with therapist humor.
I became a social worker so that I could help others. I became a behavioral health therapist because I was amazed at how our minds work and want to use my knowledge to help others increase their own understanding of self. I started my private practice so I could focus on providing therapy, with the therapeutic relationship being the focus of my work. I worked for 7 years at Denver Health where I developed expertise providing therapeutic services in behavioral health, addiction, crisis management, and health counseling. During my time at Denver Health I worked on Labor and Delivery and inpatient psychiatry before transitioning to providing therapy within women’s health and primary care clinics. More recently, I worked at Lutheran Emanuel Hospital in Portland, Oregon and Saint Joseph’s Hospital back in Denver. At both hospitals I was a member of the Behavioral Health Team and provided therapeutic services throughout the hospital and emergency departments. I received my MSW in 2009.
