I am trained and experienced in using a variety of cognitive behavioral approaches (CBT) including exposure and response prevention (ERP). In short, cognitive behavioral therapy looks at your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors and helps you re-evaluate and think about life experiences from a different, oftentimes healthier perspective. This is typically the approach I use when clients are seeking help for their generalized anxiety. Exposure and response prevention is the gold standard treatment for OCD, and helps individuals challenge their intrusive, oftentimes frightening thoughts and learn to tolerate and manage them in a way to live a happier, more fulfilling life. I am also trained and experienced in Acceptance and Commitment therapy (ACT), which essentially uses acceptance and mindfulness techniques mixed in different ways with commitment and behavior-change strategies to increase psychological flexibility and live a more value-driven life.
