Davis's Approach

One of the most important factors in therapy is our connection and meeting you where you're at. No single approach works for everyone, as every person is a unique individual. I try to find & utilize interventions that work for you. My default approach is to explore the unconscious and dreams, using these as a compass for which skills/modalities to introduce. The unconscious speaks to us through images, symbols, and metaphors. I work to help you understand this language so you can learn what it is trying to tell you about your psyche's needs. I then try to find ways of addressing these needs through a variety of approaches, theories, and skills. Some of these include challenging thought patterns or behaviors, mindfulness and meditation, projective activities, and practicing various coping skills.

I graduated from Regis University with my Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling in 2019 and completed a number of courses in the Depth Psychology Certificate. I am also a National Certified Counselor. I completed my undergraduate studies at the University of Maryland - Baltimore County with a BA in Psychology and Philosophy. I am an eclectic therapist with a strong Jungian influence, meaning I like to pick and choose various techniques and concepts from a wide range of theories. The Jungian influence stems from my fascination with the unconscious and metaphysical, specifically how it interacts with our conscious experience. I've worked in psychology for over 5 years in almost all settings, from inpatient hospitals to community mental health. During this time I've helped individuals with almost every diagnosis coming from all walks of life. Although this work has its trials, it has been the most rewarding experience imaginable.
