My Approach
I offer several ways of working: 1) Wellness Coaching, which refers to psychoeducation and support around the actions and elements in a client's life that can impact overall health, like menstrual cycle, sleep, diet, exercise, and mindfulness practice. 2) Dialectical Behavior Therapy, an evidence-based therapy that focuses on managing distress, emotional dysregulation and interpersonal conflict through mindfulness. And 3) somatic trauma work is a trauma-specific, body-based, resolution therapy based in neuroscience. We will begin with a 1, 3, or 6-month intensive package in which we dive deep and commit to your healing journey. After this period, a la carte options are available. I schedule appointments based on where you are in your menstrual cycle, as our needs change from day-to-day as women! Additionally, I do matrilineal lineage work through genograms and mother-daughter counseling; please inquire if you are interested!
My Background
Cynthia St.Clair, LPC, holds a Master’s Degree in Somatic Counseling Psychology from Naropa University. More than anything, Cynthia values developing a trusting therapeutic relationship with women that supports deep transformation over time. She has studied in depth with renowned experts in the field of women’s psychology and health, as well as the burgeoning field of mindfulness research, including: Dr. C.P. Estes, Sara Avant Stover, and Tara Brach. Furthermore, Cynthia is a trained birth doula and prenatal yoga instructor. Prior to her life as a therapist, Cynthia earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Modern Dance and Choreography from Temple University, and spent the following decade working in the New York City arts community as a performer, creator, teacher, and administrator.
