People want to make some changes but oftentimes feel stuck in relationships, old coping patterns, or paused because of something traumatic but they are not sure where to begin.I am here to help with sorting through and processing through tricky emotions, thoughts, and relationships.
Life transitions can be some of the hardest moments in our lives where we are attempting to find out who we are and what actions steps need to be taken. There is a lot of power in our thoughts and I can be helpful in assisting you changing your thinking patterns to be more in line with your goals of who you want to become. I want to offer you unconditional acceptance and assist in finding truth and honesty within yourself. Everyone is on a journey to learn more about themselves and create new patterns of coping and interacting in relationship with others. I love working with people who are resilient but need some help with overcoming barriers whether that be a death, something traumatic, or a bad relationship. My clients describe me as compassionate, direct, real, and responsive. I am often a more cognitive therapist which can help people feel grounded when they are making big decisions or dealing with stressful circumstances.
I have worked with trauma survivors for 9 years, ranging from adolescents to the elderly. I often use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, EMDR, Yoga and breathing techniques, and Solution-Focused therapy in my work, depending on the client and their preferences. I am also able to offer NADA (National Acupuncture Detoxification Association) as an addition or as a part of counseling which is five sterile small needles in the ear that has been shown to help with cravings, depression, anxiety and trauma symptoms. I am also a graduate from Denver Seminary and will gladly integrate faith if you are interested. I am a Colorado native and mother of two small children.
