Somatic experiencing, created by Dr. Peter Levine, is a body-oriented approach to the healing of trauma and stress disorders. Somatic experiencing offers a framework to assess where a person is stuck in the flight, fright or freeze responses and provides tools to resolve these psychological states.

As a clinician trained in SE, I use the body as a tool for mindfulness and trauma processing to help regulate the nervous system. Significant stressors in our lives not only impact our mind, but also our body. SE works to help resolve stress that can get stuck in our body, thereby allowing us to feel more grounded and connected to the world.
