Sex Addiction

Sexual addiction is best described as a progressive intimacy disorder characterized by compulsive sexual thoughts and acts. Sex addiction should not be confused with disorders such as pedophilia or bestiality. Like most addictions, its negative impact on the individual and on family members increase as the disorder progresses. The goal of counseling is to explore as well as correct the underlying causes that may have led to the addiction in the first place. There are various types of counseling available and both individual and group counseling can be utilized.
