Sand Tray Therapy

Sand tray therapy is a type of play therapy in which individuals place figurines or toys in a tray full of sand and are asked to tell stories, create scenes or construct his or her own microcosm using the objects provided. The scene created acts as a reflection of the person’s life, allowing them to express their feelings, resolve conflicts, act out their fantasies and develop acceptance of self.

Sometimes it is hard for us to put words to our thoughts and emotions. Sand tray therapy facilitates healing through symbolic expression which allows you to have a deeper understanding of your inner self. This process can be beneficial in resolving conflicts, improving communication with yourself and others, addressing abuse and/trauma, and provide perspective on experiences.
