Internet Addiction

Internet addiction refers to excessive internet use that interferes with daily life.  Internet addiction has many of the same characteristics as other addictions and warning signs mimic those of one with addiction to a substance. There is a compulsive need and use of  habit-forming substance, involving both tolerance and withdrawal. It is often referred to as an impulse-control disorder and seeking help from a certified addictions counselor trained in internet addiction is needed in order to help one figure out how to recover. Treatment may involve individual psychotherapy, group therapy and or support groups.
