Hakomi is a method of mindfulness-Centered Somatic Psychotherapy that was founded in the late 1970’s by therapist and author, Ron Kurtz. Fundamentally, it is the therapeutic expression of a specific set of principles. These principles include nonviolence, unity, organicity and mind body integration. Therapists that practice Hakomi are expected to embody these Principles as a consistent part of who they are and how they work. The Hakomi method has evolved into a form of psychotherapy that is highly effective with a wide range of populations.
